Description

Circlips / Snap Rings (DIN Standard – Aftermarket)

KOK supplies metal circlips, also known as snap rings, manufactured in standard DIN profiles for OE, aftermarket, and rebuilder applications.

These circlips are mechanical retaining rings used to locate or retain components on shafts or inside bores and are supplied as standardised service parts.

Component Definition

Circlips (snap rings) are spring steel retaining rings installed into a machined groove to prevent axial movement of components. They are commonly replaced during service and rebuild operations to restore correct assembly retention.

Standard Profiles Supplied

KOK supplies circlips aligned with the following DIN standards:

DIN 471 – External Circlips
    • Shaft-mounted retaining rings used to locate components on a shaft.
DIN 472 – Internal Circlips
  • Bore-mounted retaining rings used to retain components inside a housing.

These standards define circlip geometry, thickness, and installation characteristics commonly used in automotive and mechanical applications.

Dimensions & Materials

KOK circlips are supplied across a broad range of diameters and thicknesses corresponding to standard DIN specifications.

Typical materials include:

  • Carbon steel
  • Stainless steel (application-dependent)

All circlips are manufactured to defined dimensional and material requirements to ensure correct fitment and retention force.

Application Scope

  • Automotive repair and rebuilding
  • Motorcycles and scooters
  • Gearboxes, bearings, and housings
  • General mechanical and maintenance use

Supply Scope

KOK circlips are supplied as standard components in predefined DIN profiles.
